Story writing competition

Writing competition for children and young adults

The Bahrain Trust Foundation, a non-profit charitable organisation, has launched a story-writing competition for children and young adults, in cooperation and partnership with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities since 2018, with the presence of a jury composed of academics and experts in the field of writing children’s stories that judge the participating stories.

This competition comes as part of efforts aimed at enhancing creativity, intellectual stimulation, and productivity in story writing among young people. Three editions of the competition were created with the participation of more than 100 authors and the writing of more than 100 stories, 18 of which were won by Bahraini authors and illustrators.

It is worth noting that the topics raised for the stories are related to the educational programs offered by the Bahrain Trust Foundation in hospital schools, mini-schools, and public spaces. These themes serve the primary qualities: who am I?, recycling, a trip around the world, I am a good cook, I design my city. The focus has been on the “Who am I?” project.
